A unique blend of expertise

Charles originally learned his massage therapy techniques in New York, while also studying martial arts. He was fortunate to have studied under masters who recognized the importance of pain relief techniques. They were also extremely knowledgeable in the art of energy transference (Chi or Ki). In conjunction with his martial arts studies, Charles also studied Accupressure, Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Swedish Massage, Shiatsu and Reflexology. After relocating to South Florida, Charles earned certification at the Florida Institute of Massage Therapy. He is also certified in Sports Massage and affiliated with the International Massage Association.

In addition to his private practice, Charles joined the staff at the Fit For Life Health Resort in Pompano Beach, specializing in deep tissue and pain/stress relief therapies. He also performed as the Director of Massage at the Boca Beauty Academy, where he was responsible for curriculum development and implementation of the massage therapy program. Charles was also a therapist in demand at Spa Atlantis, performing deep tissue, Reflexology and Shiatsu.

Stress Management

Many corporations and organizations concerned with high stress levels experienced by their employees, have introduced Wellness and Stress Management Programs. Charles has extensive experience in developing and implementing such programs. His unique approach includes a variety of stress reduction techniques, including: On-Site Chair Massage, In-Home Table Massage, Touch Therapy and Couples Massage Seminars/Workshops, Self Defense and Fitness Programs.

The Stress Management Program Charles initiated at the Broward County Sheriffs Office in Florida included monthly on-site chair massage at several facilities.

Martial Arts

In addition to being an experienced and knowledgeable massage therapist, Charles holds six degrees of black belt, and teaches Karate as well as self-defense. In 1991, the Sun Sentinel featured Charles in a Business Section cover article entitled "Personal Contact". " He is the only black belt martial arts instructor we know who teaches privately in the home," observed Mike Billington, editor and staff writer. Charles attributes the expansion of his Sports Massage practice to this article.

Aside from various newspaper articles that have been published about Charles, he has appeared on Sasha's Talk of the Town, a local talk show in South Florida, in a martial arts segment taped at the Fit For Life Health Resort in Pompano Beach, Florida.

He has also given Stress Management lectures and hands on workshops at both Borders Book Stores and Barnes and Noble in Coral Springs and Boca Raton, Florida, as well as for the Florida chapter of the American Heart and Lung Association.

Charles has a total of 42 years of experience working with massage techniques, and 45 years in the martial arts.
